So here's some random pictures of her throwing water in the air going "It's raining!!!" Ending with her emptying the bucket over herself when there was too little water left to get it into her smaller buckets...

It's hard to believe it's not that long ago we were making snowmen instead of picking flowers, but none of that white cold stuff out there anymore! We also took a break every now and then.... ... before we were back at it again! Slightly skeptical when dad tested if the old lawnmower was still alive though... Been a good day today. We even brought some of those pretty flowers to great grandma later in the afternoon! :)

beautiful girl was photographed on Sunday, and the photographer,
Elisabeth Figenschou Jølstad, has put some of the photos on her webpage! You should really go check them out, you can find the photos here: BEAUTIFUL PHOTOS OF RAIN! Awesome photos! There's more to come later, we were going at it for two hours, and the photographer, Elisabeth Figenschou Jølstad, said there's enough material for several series. This is the first part of a whole year of photos, we'll have a session for each season, these are the winter pictures. Next up are the spring pictures, then summer and lastly autumn. It's gonna be great memories for later! :)

So we have some pictures, of course. First a couple of pictures from last month: Here's from today.... We made TWO snowmen, and one of them was as big as mum! Wonderful weather today, it was so hot outside when sitting in the sun corner that mum had to take off her jacket, even. It might mean spring is here! By the time we took pictures of the snowmen she was too tired to get back into the snow, so unfortunately I don't have a picture of her with them, but the largest one is actually a bit taller than me! Else kiddo is doing just great, she's starting to talk a bit in sentences, her hair is insanely long for her age, she loves reading books - with or without help, she likes playing the synthesizer, she loves dinosaurs, she has decided that she's not so fond of dolls, and she's a great help in the house - always wanting to do the same as mum and dad!

Awful cute, isn't she? ;) Here's also some pictures from Christmas Eve (which is when we start the celebration and open gifts). As the mother in question had been feeling bad and sadly threw up on the 23rd, it was a very quiet, but good celebration. We missed out on some things we were supposed to do, but had a wonderful dinner and a nice evening, where the Norwegian granddad dropped by during the gift opening. :) Looking forward to opening the gifts here. She quickly got hang of the part where we gave out the gifts, but she just gave them to whoever she thought should have which, so there was a bit of swapping going on, hehe. Even clothes were exciting, she had to open everything and take all apart, including a ton of tights she got. :) Here's a gift sent from the US grandma, unfortunately I didn't manage to get a picture when she found the ladybug pillow/plushie inside, she loved it, and keeps snuggling with it. :) Of course the cat got some gifts too! To his delight! There was more pictures, but I can't upload them all. :) As my sister and her family came on Wednesday, there was another gift ceremony - since people have been sick all over the place not all gifts arrived before Christmas Eve. I'll get some pictures up of that later. :) We were supposed to celebrate New Years Eve and New Year Day in Hedmark with family and friends, but the sickness hit again, and the morning of New Years Eve we woke up by Rain throwing up in bed. After a couple of hours it was clear that we weren't going anywhere, especially not a four hour drive up to Solør. My sister and her family left, and we had a very quiet day consisting of clothes changing and showers.... But in the evening she actually got a bit better and by midnight she was awake and not that sick, so we went outside anyway and fired off our fireworks. She squealed of laughter after just a small one, and was "woooooooooooow"-ing and "wheeeeeeeeeeeeee"-ing of delight between the laughter as we got to the big ones and the battery. Unfortunately we don't have any pictures as dad was busy doing the fireworks and mum busy holding on to the kid. But we did have a ton of fun! Hopefully we'll get some pictures where Rain uses her gifts this year, she got skis and a kids flat plastic sled, so I foresee some playing in the snow soon to come, since it has really been snowing a lot in December. :) She got good loot this year, plushies, gift cards, winter equipment, clothes, toys and whatnot. Even a kid book written by her US gran that was dedicated to her and her three of her US cousins! And has been happy for every single thing she got! Hope you all had Happy Holidays and we wish you all a good New Year!

We got snow again this week, and today we were out playing a bit in it, in the wonderful sun. So I thought I'd post some pictures of it here as well. :)

We didn't buy her a new costume this year, but used the same as last year, and went trick and treating in places we'd already asked if it was ok if we came. The best was mum's work place, lots of loot to be gotten there! And now she knows why mum has been going to work all this time, there's CANDY there! :D We had a lil bit trouble getting her to sit somewhere so we managed to get a picture, but we managed after a bit of work and a dad playing peekaboo. These were taken the day before Halloween, while we were testing the dress on. Which explains the no socks and all, on Halloween she had black clothes and tights underneath. We got ourselves a nature kid though, she keeps taking off whatever clothes she feels is in the way, heh. Didn't bring my camera when we were trick and treating though, so no pics of that. If you're wondering about that big black bug, it's bought at IKEA - it's an inflatable base where you can choose the cover, and she wanted the bug, NOT the ladybug. She's in general using it to jump onto it flat onto her tummy so she bounces off, into whatever walls and chairs that's around her. :P And here's one of the pumpkin after we put light in it, just for good measure. We only carved one this year as well, maybe she'll help out so we got more next year. :) Else, she and the cat is up to no good most days, and she loves putting on a show for the cat. The cat loves the attention. Those two are mostly making plans on how to take over the world or something, I'm afraid. Her talking sure shows she's a bilingual one alright, some things are all said in Norwegian, while on other things only English is used. She seems to understand both languages equally well on all matters though. Except when it comes to something she doesn't want to understand. Like how she's not supposed to open the dishwasher, which she of course has figured out how to do. I thought maybe I'd add some more pictures taken yesterday, in fact. We were about to go visit her great granddad (which is 97 years old!), and while waiting for her granddad to pick us up she and daddy threw some ball. She might become a pitcher or something, she has some darn good straight throws! ;) Even though her hair is slightly wet after her bath (which can only be done if she has her ducks with her....), you can see how it curls in some of them. :)

And it has skulls!

In July Rain, her mum and her Norwegian grandma took a trip to Göteborg in Sweden. We spent some days in Liseberg, an amusement park, and Borås Zoo. Unfortunately, I ended up not taking too many photos at all, since I was mostly with her on the rides and such. At the zoo I even just plain forgot about the camera, was so much happening! Rain loved it all, we had tickets of the kind that you can walk in and out all summer, so we spent our time doing things without rushing here and there and everywhere, which suited us all fine. There is one photo that I managed to take that I absolutely have to share though. Rain totally fell in love with the Liseberg bunnies walking all over the place dressed up as different things. (The green bunny is the Liseberg mascot). Isn't it just adorable? She came home with lots of loot, mostly plushies. And some toys. And some clothes. But mostly plushies. :D Also we had a random photo shoot after my sister and her family was here both on their way down south for vacation and on their way up again. Not putting up any photos of all the kids before I got permission from her, but I have to show these... You see, they were in Kristiansand Dyrepark (zoo, amusement park and water park), and they bought a Pirate shirt for her... Kaptein Sabeltann for those familiar with the park.. And it's pink. With black skulls. And she ADORES it. I tell you, give that kid some skulls and she'll be good the rest of the day... As you've prolly understood by now, she's understood that you're supposed to pose for the camera. And she does. In weird ways at times, but she poses. We'll turn her into a model yet. ;) More, more! And you can see her curls on these pictures too. :)

Finally, 17th of May!

Well, as July is about to start, maybe it's time to post the pictures of the 17th of May celebration I promised would be up shortly after? Hehe. Well, anyhoo, late but good, here we go. :) First, at home, ready for take off. We were so lucky that my sister ended up having a kids bunad or two too many and too big for her smallest one, so we got to borrow one that I really liked, it really looks like a proper one. And it has the real kind of buttons and heavy fabric - even a linen shirt like it's supposed to be, you're not looking at a Walmart Halloween costume here, this is the real stuff. ;) Watching as the parade goes by we had to wave our flags, of course! Two, just to be on the certain side! And this was BEFORE her arms got so tired she dragged them along the ground... And this is during the festivitas at the local gathering spot around the school, elders home and whatnot... She's gotten herself a Tweety helium balloon which she adored, and actually even stayed inflated for a whole three weeks afterwards. Now it's currently laying dead and flat among her toys, but I don't have the heart to throw it. She loves it and it's good memories, hehe. Also, she has indeed caught up with the other kids, she went from a few tentative steps to walk all over, and she's currently in the running fase. Watch out world! Sometimes it's a bit hard to stop when first working up the momentum, but she just gets up again and keeps doing whatever it was she was busy with. :)

Sorry about that. Rain is going along fine, she's currently letting her teeth 13,14,15 and 16 come out, her canines after getting her molars, and every now and then she'll stop whatever she's doing and just open her mouth and start gaping like a fish. Needless to say we find it very funny and she seems perplexed herself every time it happens. We've also been up to Brumunddal to celebrate her two Norwegian cousins birthdays last weekend, and it was a ton of fun. My sister was kind enough to let us borrow a national dress for kids her age (we don't have any), and we're gonna take photos of her in it when we celebrate our National Day which is 17th of May. Hopefully we'll have tons of pics of her then. :) She's fast in catching up on all the other toddlers her age when it comes to walking after wearing those hip pillow and harness things, she's standing around on her own now, and even though she's only taken a few tentative steps without holding someones arm or furniture of some sorts, I don't think it'll take long now. Currently she's walking on her knees whenever she's moving around unless extra speed is needed (like chasing the cat around), then she drops down and crawls so fast she's a blur over the floor. To her own and the cats amusement. She's still not too sure about letting mum work, but then again she and her daddy seems to have great fun while I'm gone, looking at the evidence they leave. :P We're still hanging in there without kindergarden/daycare because we work as we do, but we'll hopefully get her in somewhere later this year when we know for sure where I'm gonna work after August, when I'm most likely switching jobs. (Was supposed to happen this month, but I've been hired through the summer and out August in a day position at work after quitting my shift work.) Here's a pic taken today, a bit blurry, but still. We're letting her hair grow so it'll get long in the front too, but every now and then she'll pull out the barrettes or scrungie. And yes, she's indeed turning into a curly haired thing, just like her mum, even though you can't see it that well in this photo. I'll try to take some later really showing how curly her hair is. :)
